Robert Sorkin is a business development and corporate strategy leader who has launched multiple brand extensions and divisions that have generated tens of millions of dollars in revenue. He has been working in Entertainment and Media over the past 10 years at various companies including: Creative Artists Agency, Gaumont Television and Young Hollywood. Robert has experience working on all aspects of Business Development from ideation to day-to-day management in multiple areas including: content, consumer products, games, mobile applications, tourism and more.
Robert started his career at Creative Artists Agency in television packaging working with actors, writers, directors and producers. After Creative Artists Agency, he worked at Gaumont Television in Business Development building the division from the ground up into a multimillion-dollar annual revenue stream. He created new significant revenue and marketing opportunities for Gaumont’s properties including: Narcos (Netflix), Hannibal (NBC), F is for Family (Netflix) and more. In addition, Robert implemented and developed the mobile game, Narcos: Cartel Wars, with FTX Games.
Robert was most recently the Head of Business Development at Young Hollywood and was instrumental in launching 8 new verticals as well as generating new business opportunities including the Young Hollywood Tour with Starline Tours. He expanded Young Hollywood’s entertainment programming through both traditional and new mediums internationally.
Robert is currently in pursuit of his MBA at UCLA Anderson School of Management as part of the FEMBA program. He holds a BA in Art & Art History from Emory University. Robert and his wife, Mallory Sorkin, serve on the board of directors of Kids In The Spotlight. Kids In The Spotlight’s mission is to help foster youth confront, address, and overcome their psychological, emotional, and developmental trauma through transformative filmmaking—providing them with the therapy needed to maintain employment, pursue higher education, and become stable and productive members of society.
